Our Public Forums are strategically designed to hold REAL conversations with city, county and state officials (elected, appointed, and aspiring). During The People's forums, we ask guest panelists non-combative questions derived from the community. The expectation is for panelists to provide a deeper understanding of how government systems work, steps to implement law & policy change, and the impact their roles, duties, and responsibilities have on our community. It is also the people's chance to hold them accountable! We host these events often. Most events are live streamed on Facebook and/or Instagram. Follow us on social media to catch the next one!

In 2020 we held our first annual Juneteenth celebration for the City of Tacoma. A holiday celebrated in Rhode Island where LegallyBLACK was originally founded by Tisha Marie Wosencroft in 2016 with her father Michael.
On June 19th, 2020 we gathered with the community to celebrate the historical freedom day and protest Pierce County police reform as a first step toward unifying modern day civil rights activists and grassroots organizations across Pierce County. The event began with a blessing from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, discussed the history of Juneteenth and its correlation to modern day slavery, then segued into a peaceful protest through Downtown Tacoma. During the march, LegallyBLACK board Members spoke to the community about the exact demands we're working to change: 1-the institution of body cameras for all Pierce County law enforcement, 2-Revoke qualified immunity, 3- Reform law enforcement recruitment and training programs 4- Publicize misconduct reports and 5- Adopt '8 Can't Wait' policies. We were joined by guest speakers Dr. John “Push” Gaines, Antonio McLemore (Tacoma Urban League) Commissioner Will Hausa, (WA State Commission on African American Affairs), Mayor Victoria Woodards, many other fantastic Kings, Queens, & Royalty, and a dope group of LegallyBLACK. Angels (volunteers)!
